Wyndham expands Ramada brand in New Zealand

Ramada logoWyndham Hotel Group has announced the continued expansion of its portfolio in New Zealand with the signing of a franchise agreement for the four-star Ramada Suites Auckland Federal Street, located in the heart of Auckland’s central business district (CBD).

The 42-apartment, boutique-style hotel is being developed by Robert Neil of New Zealand’s The Safari Group. The NZD$12 million development is scheduled for completion in October 2015 and will offer a mix of studio, one- and two-bedroom apartments.

The franchise agreement furthers Wyndham Hotel Group’s strategic efforts to grow the Ramada brand throughout the South Pacific, including New Zealand. The company recently announced the addition of Ramada Suites Christchurch City to its portfolio of three properties in the country, which include locations in Paihia, Bay of Islands and Orewa. The Ramada brand’s global portfolio consists of 840 properties in 60 countries.

Barry Robinson, Wyndham Hotel Group’s president and managing director, South East Asia and Pacific Rim, said the new Ramada property will help fulfill the growing demand for new, quality-driven lodging in the area.
