Rosewood Hotels & Resorts today announced the appointment of Philip Meyer as managing director of Rosewood Hotel Georgia in Vancouver, British Columbia. Philip will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the legendary hotel, including its recently-debuted Prohibition, popular alfresco lounge Reflections, 1927 Lobby Lounge and Sense, A Rosewood spa.
Meyer is an accomplished and respected international hotelier with proven experience in the management of boutique properties. Mostly recently, he held the role of general manger of Wedgewood Hotel and Spa in Vancouver, where he helped the hotel earn prestigious rankings in A-list travel publications throughout his 17-year tenure. Prior to his position at Wedgewood, Meyer served as general manager of several prominent boutique hotels, including the AAA Four Diamond Sherwood Inn in Ontario, Horsted Place Hotel in the United Kingdom and the family-owned Goring Hotels of London.

A native of Kent, England, Meyer received his formal hospitality training in the United Kingdom before he joined the Queen Elizabeth 2 Luxury Cruise Liner, where he cultivated his knowledge of luxury service and quality. Aside from his passion for hospitality, Meyer is an avid cyclist and constantly organizes dynamic cycling events throughout British Columbia in support of the BC Cancer Foundation.
