Loews Regency San Francisco announces two executive appointments

Loews Regency San Francisco has announced two executive-level appointments: Austin Phillips as Director of Sales & Marketing, and Amol Agarwal as Executive Chef & Director of Food and Beverage.

With more than a decade of hotel industry experience, Austin Phillips leads all sales and marketing efforts as Director of Sales & Marketing at Loews Regency San Francisco. He arrived at the hotel from Stanford Court San Francisco, part of the Highgate Hotels portfolio, where he had been Director of Sales & Marketing since June 2013.

Phillips also held sales and marketing roles at other Highgate properties, including Associate Director of Sales at Boston Park Plaza Hotel and Director of Business Travel & Leisure Sales at Parc 55 Wyndham Hotel in San Francisco. He previously gained experience at other San Francisco-based addresses including Area Director of Sales &Marketing of Greystone Hotels with responsibility for the overall productivity of three properties; Director of Sales & Marketing at Hotel Griffon; and Senior Sales Manager at Hotel Adagio. Phillips got his start in 2002 as Director of Sales at Golden Arrow Lakeside Resort in Lake Placid, New York.

A native of San Anselmo in Marin County, Phillips earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Resort & Lodging Management from California State University, Chico, and continued his education with a Masters Degree in Business Administration from Golden Gate University in San Francisco.

Amol AgarwalAmol Agarwal

As Executive Chef, Amol Agarwal oversees all aspects of food and beverage, including kitchen operations, menu creation and designing the beverage program at Loews Regency San Francisco, including Brasserie S&P and The Bar at Brasserie S&P. He will also lead the in-room dining division and the banquet programming. Whatever the venue, Chef takes inspiration from the freshest locally-grown ingredients to create artful culinary offerings that are as gorgeous to view as they are delectable to eat.

Agarwal brings extensive experience earned at upscale hotels and resorts around the world to his role. He arrived in San Francisco from The Ritz-Carton, South Beach, where he spent the past three years as Executive Chef. Previously, he held the same position for three years at JW Marriott Camelback Inn, Scottsdale. Other assignments dotting Agarwal’s work history over the past decade include Acting Executive Chef at The Ritz-Carlton Hotel Beijing; Executive Sous Chef at Langham Huntington Hotel, Pasadena; and Executive Sous Chef at The Ritz-Carlton Rose Hall, Jamaica.

Born and raised in India, Agarwal trained in the culinary arts at Institute of Hotel Management, Chennai, India and honed his skills in hotel and restaurant kitchens around the world.
