Wyndham appoints Richard Constable to Corporate Counsel

WyndhamWyndham Worldwide has appointed Richard Constable, formerly Commissioner of Community Affairs for the State of New Jersey, as senior vice president of Government Relations and Commercial Contracts.

In this role, Constable will oversee government relations and commercial contracts for the global hospitality company.

Constable comes to Wyndham with 18 years of legal and government experience, including serving as Deputy Commissioner of the New Jersey Department of Labor and Workforce Development, and eight years as Assistant United States Attorney in the United States Attorney’s Office in Newark.

Following the impact of Superstorm Sandy, Constable was handpicked by Governor Chris Christie to implement rebuilding and recovery efforts in the state, working in collaboration with the US Department of Housing and Urban Development to administer over $4 billion in federal disaster funds.

Constable has served as an adjunct professor at Rutgers Law School and Fordham Law School. He began his career in private practice at the law firm of Sullivan and Cromwell in New York, and served as a law clerk for The Honorable Alan Page, Minnesota Supreme Court Justice.

He holds a bachelor’s degree in political science from the University of Michigan, and earned his Juris Doctorate and Masters in Public Administration from the University of Pennsylvania Law School and Fels Institute of Government.  Constable will be based at the Wyndham global headquarters in Parsippany, New Jersey.
