Rebranded DoubleTree Reserva del Higuerón first Hilton in Costa del Sol

Four-star superior hotel Reserva del Higuerón has announced an agreement with Hilton Worldwide to become the first Hilton branded resort on Spain’s Costa del Sol.

The rebranded DoubleTree by Hilton Resort & Spa Reserva del Higuerón expects to welcome its first guests in summer 2015, following conversion under the upscale brand, and to further its reputation as a leading destination for golfers across Europe.

The resort is nestled within the Higuerón estate, 15 minutes from Malaga airport and is the home of choice for the city’s glitterati and footballer stars.

As a child-free contemporary, designer hotel, it is ideal for golfers looking for a stylish base with outstanding facilities, away from the coast but close to the nightlife of Fuengirola, Benalmadena and Malaga.

There are 10 golf courses within a 15-minute transfer, including the likes of El Chapparal, Mijas Golf and Santana Golf. Tee times can be reserved for guests and at preferred rates, while the hotel also sits close to the region’s renowned sandy beaches.

DoubleTree by Hilton Resort & Spa Reserva del Higuerón general manager José Navas said: “I am delighted to welcome the DoubleTree by Hilton brand to the Costa del Sol and to be able to give travelers more choice.

“The venture will enable us to thrive as a resort and meet the growing demands of full-service quality guest experiences and unsurpassed hospitality. DoubleTree by Hilton is recognized worldwide for its warm, hospitable service, and this agreement will add tremendous value to the resort.”

Already one of the most prestigious residential and leisure developments in the Costa del Sol, the rebranded hotel will offer a choice of three restaurants, three bars, flexible meetings and events space, a state-of-the-art gym and activity rooms, and a wellness and beauty centre.

The Infinity bar terrace, located on the hotel’s top floor, offers an outstanding pool and sky lounge, with panoramic views over the Mediterranean Sea.

Featuring 177 bedrooms, the resort’s other top facilities include the Higuerón Sports Club – which boasts an indoor lap pool, state-of-the-art gym, tennis, padel tennis, a Nagomi Spa health circuit and a number of beach volleyball courts. Free shuttle to the beach is also available for hotel guests.

Guests can also choose from a wide range of different restaurants, while award-winning chef Diego Gallegos is set to open the exclusive Sollo Restaurant at the resort by end of March.
