InterContinental Lijiang Ancient Town Resort formally opens

The InterContinental Lijiang Ancient Town Resort has formally opened its doors with a series of celebrations which showcase how this strategically positioned design-inspired hotel celebrates the finest of traditions of China and South-East Asia whilst providing modern, well-appointed facilities.

Situated in the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Lijiang, the InterContinental Lijiang’s formal opening was attended by He Xianzhong, Chairman of Lijiang Yulong Tourism Co., Ltd; Geoffrey Lee, Vice President of Design & Engineering, Greater China, IHG (InterContinental Hotels Group); Constance Cheong, General Manager of the InterContinental Lijiang Ancient Town Resort, and other senior executives from IHG.

As the newest member of InterContinental Hotels and Resorts, the rebranded InterContinental Lijiang Ancient Town Resort offers a rich garden environment landscaped around local fishing and living traditions and tasteful architecture in keeping with Lijiang-style. Inside the hotel, local Naxi Dongba motifs and symbols are creatively applied and fused whether for sculptures, Chinese courtyards or general design. Cuisine ranges from the Seven Colors Chinese Restaurant, Basil Leaf’s international menu including South-East Asian and Western dishes, barbeques of local-style dishes to simply sipping pu’er tea in the Green Tea Lounge. The result is an environment of understatement – discreet, welcoming service and symbolic gestures which ensure guests are truly looked after, whether travelling for business or leisure.

The hotel’s executive rooms have been modernized with new technology and furniture to meet the needs of today’s travelers. The Naxi Dongba minority inspired Lobby area, where guests are first welcomed by traditional hospitality has been renovated whilst maintaining its unique design features and now includes a Club Lounge offering exclusive club facilities for Executive Room guests. The Hotel’s well-known Juvenis20 Spa already has a strong following by visitors to Lijiang.
