Michael Sengol appointed interim MD of Bintan Lagoon Resort

Michael Sengol has been recently appointed the interim Managing Director of Bintan Lagoon Resort.

With over 40 years of experience in the industry, Michael specializes in optimizing hotel assets to drive maximum profitability for key stakeholders. As Managing Director, Michael is tasked with accelerating the achievement of financial and operational targets set by the Board of Directors of Bintan Lagoon Resort, a 470-key beachfront resort in Bintan, Indonesia.

Following the completion of his term, Michael will return to his seat on the Board where he will continue to contribute his expertise to drive further growth for the company. Michael was previously Chief Executive Officer of Meritus Hotels & Resorts, a hotel management company under the hospitality division of OUE Limited, a Singapore Exchange-listed property development company. Prior to his role with Meritus, Michael was based in London as Chief Operating Officer of Millennium & Copthorne Hotels plc, a London Stock Exchange-listed company that owns and operates more than 100 hotels in 80 destinations around the globe.

Appointed to the position of Vice President – Business Development & Hotel Operations of Bintan Lagoon Resort, Gerald A Hendrick brings over 22 years of experience in the hospitality industry, most recently with The St. Regis Singapore. Gerald has held key management roles and spearheaded the opening and re-branding activities for major hotel brands in Asia and the Middle East, to include Hilton Hotels & Resorts, Madinat Jumeirah Hotels, Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group, Pan Pacific Hotels and Resorts, Raffles Hotels & Resorts, and Shangri-la Hotels & Resorts. In addition to his new role overseeing business development activities, Gerald will focus on enhancing the guest experience at Bintan Lagoon Resort through the implementation of distinctive and innovative product and service standards.
