Mario Hofmann new Executive Chef at Shangri-La Kuala Lumpur

Shangri-La Hotel, Kuala Lumpur has announced the appointment of Mario Hofmann as Executive Chef. In his new role, Chef Mario will showcase his creativity at the hotel’s prestigious restaurants and bars.  

Chef Mario, a German national, brings a wealth of experience from the various culinary posts he held at the Kempinski group of hotels in Germany, Austria and Thailand, where he took up executive posts ranging from banquet chef to executive chef.

With over 20 years of experience under his belt, Chef Mario joined Shangri-La Hotel, Kuala Lumpur from his most recent position as executive chef at the Kempinski Hotel “Das Tirol”, Kitzbuehel Alps, Austria.

Chef Mario is all set to delight guests by adding a contemporary touch to the food preparation, set up and presentation while preserving the authenticity and originality of the dishes. With Chef Mario at the helm, guests can expect a delectable dining that is bound to impress even the most discerning palate.

“My philosophy is that ‘less is more’. One of our plans is to introduce more fresh local and imported ingredients of the highest quality in our food preparation,” the hotel’s new executive chef said.  

 Chef Mario added that he is excited to join the team at the award-winning Shangri-La Hotel, Kuala Lumpur.

As the hotel’s executive chef, he will work towards taking the hotel’s culinary team to greater heights and uphold its award-winning status in Malaysia and elsewhere.
