Mehmet Bahtiyar new General Manager of Renaissance Boca Raton

5668533830982Renaissance Boca Raton Hotel welcomes Mehmet Bahtiyar as General Manager. With over 15 years of hotel industry experience Bahtiyar, will utilize his extensive skill set, team building expertise and management experience to elevate Renaissance Boca Raton’s overall, day-to-day operations, which include attention to service, elevated guest relations and generative revenue.

Bahtiyar most recently served as Director of Operations at The Westin Tysons Corner Hotel, Virginia. It was there where he managed 100 associates in Service Express, Front Desk, Bell Services, Engineering and Housekeeping, while creating new services and upsell opportunities to increase profitability. As Director of Operations, Bahtiyar was responsible for maintaining guest satisfaction, profitability and employee morale under all Starwood Standards and policies. At The Westin Tyson’s Corner Hotel, he was able to successfully bring the property to the “Best in Class” in the last eight years for guest satisfaction before his move to Renaissance Boca Raton Hotel as General Manager.

Mehmet was born in Istanbul, Turkey, and began his career in the hospitality industry overseas. He earned a degree in the Bachelor of Arts for Italian Language and Literature from the University of Istanbul, Turkey. He also attended the language program at the University of Siena in Italy, and is fluent in Turkish and Italian, with knowledge of the German and Spanish languages. Bahtiyar worked with the Swissotel Company for over 10 years, gaining knowledge at different properties across the world within different hospitality divisions. As a Front Office Manager at The Watergate Hotel in Washington, D.C., he gained valuable experience in guest relations and all areas of rooms division. He furthered his career at The Watergate Hotel as Director of Housekeeping, where he was responsible for all housekeeping management, maintenance projects, and implementation of an effective budget for the department as a whole. Bahtiyar also held the position of Rooms Division Manager at The Melrose Hotel in Washington, D.C., where he managed and oversaw all operations of the Front Desk and Housekeeping. As Rooms Division Manager, Bahtiyar was able to gain knowledge with budgeting revenue and expenses for hotel purchases and labor control. As Director of Services at the Mandarin Oriental in Washington, D.C., Bahtiyar played a key role as a member of the Opening Team and a Front of House Manager for four years.
