J Street Hospitality Inc., a premier real estate and hospitality development company, announced the recent opening of the newly constructed Courtyard by Marriott San Diego Gaslamp/Convention Center in San Diego, California. The hotel is a Marriott franchise, owned by J Street Hospitality, Inc. and managed by Azul Hospitality Group, Inc.
The 90-room, 14-story Courtyard by Marriott brings not only a cutting-edge hotel to San Diego’s vibrant downtown, but also enhances the city’s dining and nightlife landscape with a distinctive rooftop lounge, The Nolen, which will open in early November.
“We are thrilled to introduce an exceptional new lodging and dining destination in the heart of San Diego’s thriving Gaslamp Quarter,” said Sajan Hansji, President of J Street Hospitality. “Locals and tourists alike will enjoy this property, from state-of-the-art accommodations to proximity to local attractions, as well as sweeping views of downtown San Diego, the San Diego Bay and Coronado Island from the rooftop.”
The Nolen, named for San Diego city-planning pioneer John Nolen, is a 2,500 square-foot venue located on the 14th floor and features an innovative menu with modern takes on throwback cocktails and traditional comfort foods. The space was designed by the award-winning firm whose portfolio includes other notable dining launches, such as Juniper & Ivy, Catania and Kettner Exchange.

Additional Courtyard amenities include The Market, a 24/7 shop for snacks, beverages and sundries; The Bistro restaurant and outdoor patio offering a variety of healthy breakfast and dinner options and an evening bar; fitness center and business center.
“Given the particularly challenging aspects of the site, J Street Hospitality developed a truly unique Courtyard by Marriott hotel,” stated Eric Jacobs, Chief Development Officer, North American Lodging for Marriott International. “The project represents a successful collaboration between J Street Hospitality, Marriott and the City of San Diego. We think the customer looking for a great location with an urban flair and great rooftop bar will certainly enjoy our newest Courtyard.”
