Jose Gonzalez appointed new General Manager at San Juan Marriott Resort & Stellaris Casino

San Juan Marriott Resort & Stellaris Casino is proud to announce the appointment of Jose Gonzalez as the new General Manager. In his new role, Gonzalez will be responsible for operations and management for the resort as well as determining sales strategies across relevant market segments in order to maximize revenues. 

“We’re delighted to have Jose join our executive team,” said Joaquin Cruz, Director of Marketing at San Juan Marriott Resort & Stellaris Casino. “His experience across different Marriott properties is invaluable and will be key to our team’s ongoing success.”

Gonzalez started his Marriott career in 2002 as the General Manager at Marriott Hotel Puebla, Mexico, where he oversaw the conversion of the hotel to a Marriott property. Most recently, Gonzalez served as the General Manager at JW Marriott Caracas and as Country Manager for Venezuela, where he provided strategic leadership for three properties, achieving a total revenue of over $106 million dollars per year.

Prior to his time in Venezuela, Gonzalez was General Manager at Renaissance Hotel and Resort Costa do Sauipe in Brazil and before that, General Manager at Renaissance Jaragua Hotel and Casino in Santo Domingo. He also served as General Manager of Frenchman’s Reef & Morning Star Marriott Resort in St. Thomas, where he led the property through an $80 million dollar renovation.
