Wyndham signs three upscale Wyndham resorts in China

Building on the recent openings of the 232-room Wyndham Grand Shenzhen and the 390-room Wyndham Chongqing Yuelai, Wyndham Hotel Group has announced plans to expand its ever growing China portfolio with the signing of three new Wyndham Hotels and Resorts properties.

Wyndham Sanya Bay
The 400-room Wyndham Sanya Bay is scheduled to open by the end of 2015.

Located in some of China’s most exotic resort destinations, the signings reinforce Wyndham Hotel Group’s ongoing commitment to growing its upscale Wyndham Hotels and Resorts brand beyond tier-one cities in China and into diverse tier-two destinations, which have become key hubs for both business and leisure travel. They also come at a time when the company as a whole is seeing explosive growth within the country across its larger multi-brand portfolio. As of March 31, 2015, the company had approximately 900 hotels and more than 100,000 rooms in the country, with an active development pipeline of more than 135 hotels and over 26,000 rooms.

“The rapid growth of China’s tourism industry has created a heightened demand for hotels and offers huge potential for us to expand the presence of our brands in stunning locations country-wide,” said Leo Liu, Wyndham Hotel Group’s president and managing director for China. “We expect significant growth for our upscale Wyndham Hotels and Resorts brand in emerging markets, especially in rising regional economic hubs, leisure locations and nature resort locations. The signings of these three hotels perfectly matches the growing market demand and offers enormous potential for property owners.”
