Hakan Ozel appointed General Manager of China World Summit Wing, Beijing

Hakan Ozel has been appointed general manager of Shangri-La’s China World Summit Wing, Beijing. In his new capacity, he will oversee all daily operations of the highest luxury hotel in Beijing. 

A Turkish national and with over 10 years of experience in the Shangri-La family, Mr. Ozel brings strategic thinking and knowledge of hospitality from his diverse and rich career path in Asia and beyond. Prior to his current appointment, he was the general manager of Shangri La Hotel, Tianjin – the first hotel of the Shangri-La group in the city. He was also the resident manager at Shangri-La Hotel, Beijing, where he undertook special projects to improve the hotel and its facilities. He has also worked at other properties the same group in Wenzhou, Shenzhen and Dalian, as well as Indonesia and the Sultanate of Oman.

Before joining the Shangri-La family, Mr. Ozel held postings at luxury hotels spanning in Egypt, United Arab Emirates and his hometown in Turkey, where he started his illustrious career in food and beverage management. A graduate of the tourism and hotel management faculty in Bilkent University, Turkey, Mr. Ozel’s main passion remains to be high quality service and unique guest experiences that make one’s stay unforgettable.
