Benchmark Hospitality International, the U.S.-based hospitality management company, has appointed Valery Welton director of human resources for Hotel Contessa, a Benchmark Hotel located on the Riverwalk in San Antonio, Texas. Troy Mathews, general manager for the luxury suites property, made the announcement.
“It is a pleasure to welcome Valery to Hotel Contessa,” said Mr. Mathews. “She brings a uniquely diverse background in human resources to her new role with us, and is a terrific addition to our leadership team.”
Valery Welton previously served as shipboard human resources manager for Viking Ocean Cruises based in Basel, Switzerland, and for Royal Caribbean International, based in Miami, Florida. Prior to this, Ms. Welton was human resources director for the Wynfrey Hotel in Birmingham, Alabama.
Ms. Welton is a graduate of Kansas State University where she earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration. She is relocating to San Antonio.
