Luke Mangan climbs aboard the Eastern & Oriental Express

Eastern & Oriental Express Luke ManganBelmond is delighted to announce a partnership with Australian chef and restaurateur, Luke Mangan. The first hosted journey takes place on 28th October 2016 from Singapore to Bangkok on board the Eastern & Oriental Express train in Asia.

In partnership with Eastern & Oriental Express’ Executive Chef, Yannis Martineau, Luke Mangan, and his team based in Singapore, will showcase his internationally regarded culinary skills as they serve up their signature clean and contemporary menus aboard Asia’s most luxurious train.

In Singapore, guests are invited to join Luke for a morning tour of the exotic food market before boarding the train for the three day, two night journey that will travel through Singapore, Malaysia and Thailand. Once on board the train, Luke will meet with guests as well as hosting a book signing of his latest book ‘Salt Grill, Fine Dining for the whole family’. On day two of the journey, Luke takes up the challenge of serving the specially created menus from the train’s galley kitchens to guests in the elegant dining cars.

Eastern & Oriental Express travels on one of the most magical and memorable routes in the world; stepping aboard the elegant green and gold carriages is an invitation to take a break from fast paced lives, slow down and enjoy the journey. The train carries just 82 guests in all en-suite air-conditioned cabins with two dining cars, a lively bar car and outdoor observation car from which to enjoy the scenic landscapes of South East Asia.
