Minor Hotels announce Pieter van der Hoeven as Area General Manager for Vietnam

Pieter van der Hoeven Minor Hotels has announced the appointment of Pieter van der Hoeven as Area General Manager for Vietnam, effective April 2017.

Based out of Anantara Hoi An Resort & Spa, Mr van der Hoeven will oversee operational and sales functions across all Minor Hotels brands in Vietnam.

Mr Van der Hoeven joins Minor Hotels from Outrigger Resorts where, between the years 2008 and 2017, he had held various leadership positions across Asia Pacific. He left Outrigger Resorts to join Raffles hotels in Cambodia as General Manager between July 2013 and December 2014 before returning in January 2015 as General Manager of Outrigger Mauritius Beach Resort. In 2016 Mr van der Hoeven received an Outstanding Manager Award for implementing highly successful revenue-generating strategies as well as dramatically improving guest satisfaction.

A seasoned hotelier, Mr van der Hoeven’s pervious hospitality experience includes senior roles with Anantara Hua Hin Resort and Evason Hua Hin Resort (both in Thailand), Evason Ana Mandara in Vietnam, as well as The Peninsula Bangkok and earlier management positions in his native Australia with Hyatt and at The Peninsula Hong Kong.

In his new role, Mr van der Hoeven will report to Thomas B. Meier, Senior Vice President, Hotel Operations, Asia.
