ASSA ABLOY Hospitality has debuted its most recent design and technology innovations for the hotel industry at the world’s largest annual technology exposition – HITEC 2016 – during which they conducted demonstrations and previews of their latest locking and security solutions.
Already installed on more than 130,000 guestroom door locks around the world, ASSA ABLOY Hospitality Mobile Access allows guests to use personal smart devices as secure guestroom keys. Based on ASSA ABLOY’s Seos security technology protocol, Mobile Access integrates with the hotel PMS to allocate a guestroom and generate a digital key that is encrypted and securely delivered to a guest’s smartphone, which then places the key in a secure key vault within the hotel’s mobile app. When presented to the appropriate lock, the app transmits the encrypted key via a secure communication channel, in order to unlock the door and allow access.
At HITEC 2016, ASSA ABLOY Hospitality demonstrated how it is taking this industry-leading Mobile Access solution to a whole new level, making it fully compatible with their most advanced, design-centric locking solutions – VingCard Allure and Essence.
VingCard Allure is a next generation electronic locking solution that provides the ultimate in security and minimalistic design, moving hardware from guestroom doors onto adjacent walls.
Replacing external components with a sleek, modern signage panel that controls the locking mechanism, Allure offers a range of features that can be tailored to a hotel’s unique design needs. VingCard Essence takes minimalism to the extreme by encasing all electronic components inside the door itself and making security virtually invisible to guests. Both solutions are now being made available with ASSA ABLOY Hospitality Mobile Access, allowing hoteliers to combine the most advanced security technology with a unique and memorable design.
To further complement a hotel’s aesthetic design and allow a range of customization options, ASSA ABLOY Hospitality showcased a new line of designer handles by sister company, Valli & Valli at HITEC.
In addition to debuting its latest locking and security solutions, the ASSA ABLOY Hospitality Mobile Access Onboarding Team was on hand at HITEC to consult with hoteliers on the best protocol for implementing industry leading digital key technology at their properties. Properties may choose to integrate the service into their own existing app and back-end systems using a specially developed Mobile Access Software Development Kit (SDK) or provide basic Mobile Access functionality, through the use of ASSA ABLOY Hospitality’s app solution. Alternatively, those that wish to offer mobile services beyond simple access control but do not have an app of their own, may select a solution from a third party certified partner, many of which also exhibited at HITEC 2016.
