What I Really Wanted new hotel and resort gift voucher website

Gift voucher solutions company, SK Chase has entered the Christmas gifting market with the launch of its consumer luxury hotel and resort gift voucher experience website, What I Really Wanted.

What I really wanted website 1SK Chase successfully works with over 300 of the most luxurious hotels and resorts in the UK including Rocco Forte, Gleneagles, The Grove, Pennyhill Park, Corinthia London, Chewton Glen, Limewood and Rockliffe Hall providing the software that enables them to sell their gift experiences online via any device, alongside a cloud based management system and ‘white glove’ fulfillment service.

A recent internal analysis of SK Chase’s existing partners showed that nearly 90% of hotel gift vouchers were purchased by someone living within 10 miles of the property. Therefore, SK Chase saw an opportunity to support its partners by creating a new website to attracts consumers from further afield and increase awareness and revenue.

Launched to coincide with the massive increase in trading at Christmas, What I Really Wanted filters gift vouchers by gender, experience and budget – being a perfect portal for those looking to give gift happiness to a loved one.

Recent research by What I Really Wanted showed that a staggering 92% of those surveyed had received a gift they didn’t want and 1 in 5 (22%) that received Christmas presents last year would have preferred a different gift.

Far from money buying happiness, the research also found that gifting an experience brought the longest lasting pleasure to their recipients rather than an expensive possession.  74% of those surveyed said they had received a gift experience and of these 98% said the experience made them feel happy.  71% would prefer a gift experience or a gift voucher to a material gift and 66% said they would buy a gift experience for someone. For those who chose gift experiences and vouchers, they stated they wanted to give their loved ones an opportunity to do something new (73%), create special memories (65%) and it is nice to give something you can share with someone (74%).

Managing Director of What I Really Wanted, Linda Laurens, comments on the findings, “We wanted to extend the offering to our hotel and resort partners by giving them another avenue to sell their gift vouchers. The What I Really Wanted website aggregates all the great experiences that our partners offer their customers – be it weekends away, spa days or golf breaks – in one place. We are supporting the launch of the consumer site with an extensive marketing campaign, bringing more exposure and opportunity to customers to purchase during one of the busiest trading periods. ”
