Home2 Suites by Hilton opens in Rapid City

Home2 SuitesVisitors in Rapid City have a new place to spend the night in style. Home2 Suites by Hilton is now open for guests, with more than 100 total rooms off exit 61 in Rapid City. The brand is one the newest to the Hilton family. Each room is suite-style with a kitchenette, and this property belongs to Liv Hospitality and is connected to the WaTiki Waterpark complex.

Crews broke ground on the hotel back in August and it took aboutÊnine months to finish construction. Managers say it brings something unique for visitors.

“You can customize your experience,Ó said Patricia Luna, the General Manager of Home2. ÒOne of the things we focus on is we want our customers free to be themselves, so they can move components in their rooms, they can move components in the lobby.

ÒWe really focus on making sure you do what you want to do when you’re with us. So it’s very flexible and I think that’s very different about our hotel and about the Home2 brand as a whole.”

The Home2 brand started in 2011 and now includes about 200 total locations across the country, and a new Rapid City company is turning up the heat on sweet treats.

Bakehouse started back in March, with catering for everything from weddings to birthdays, and they can whip up almost anything to satisfy your sweet tooth from cakes to macaroons. Their menu also includes health-conscious options including vegan and gluten-free. The owner says her baking-passion started as a child.

“I’ve always baked with my mom and grandma,Ó said Madison Hunter, the owner of Bakehouse. ÒThey really inspired me. I use really fresh ingredients. Everything is made from scratch. Nothing comes in a can or anything like that.”

The bakery operates out of a commercial kitchen and meetings can be made by appointment.
