Deutsche Hospitality is continuing its drive for international growth. On 1 November, the five-star Hotel Coraya Beach in Marsa Alam joined its portfolio. Previously known as Iberotel, this new addition is now operated under the Steigenberger Hotels and Resorts brand. This brings the group’s total representation in Egypt to eight hotels and three Nile river ships.
Deutsche Hospitality CEO Puneet Chhatwal explained that this latest venture formed part of the successful policy of expansion being pursued by the company: “The Coraya Beach Resort makes the ‘top quality made in Germany’ model available in Marsa Alam. Our growing presence in Egypt is enabling us to extend our strong local network.”
Marsa Alam is located in the South of the country directly on the Red Sea coast. The hotel itself offers guests the option of sunbathing on a private beach or using one of three swimming pools. The quiet bay in which the Coraya Beach Resort is set boasts gorgeous coral reefs which are easily accessible from the beach, whilst colourful shoals of fish make snorkelling a truly special experience.
Conveniently located only around ten kilometres from the airport, the hotel offers 354 rooms and suites generously distributed across the whole of the area of the resort. Extensive gardens provide plenty of natural shade and numerous opportunities for private relaxation. During the day, guests can choose from a wide range of sporting activities including tennis, squash, beach volleyball and fitness training. A haman, steam bath and sauna all provide a real treat for health and beauty spa enthusiasts. The resort has both a buffet area and an à la carte restaurant. Guests also have access to two additional à la carte restaurants integrated into a traditional Egyptian market place within walking distance. Food and drink facilities also include a beach bar, pool bar and shisha lounge. The hotel also boasts its own theatre, where evening entertainment is provided in the form of live music and shows.
The hotel is operated via a franchise agreement by the Egyptian company Sun Oasis For Hotels S.A.E.
