RIU opens first facility with water attractions at complex in Punta Cana

RIU Hotels & Resorts has just opened Splash Water World, an area with water attractions located in Punta Cana, the Dominican Republic, which will add colour, adrenaline and fun to the holidays of its guests. This is a new feature at RIU, which is for the first time opening an establishment specialising in aquatic activities. This space, in which the hotel operator has invested $3.5 million, is reserved for the exclusive use of guests at the five hotels RIU has in its complex.

Thus, the children and adults staying at the Riu Naiboa, Riu Palace Punta Cana, Riu Palace Macao, ClubHotel Riu Bambu and Riu Palace Bavaro have free admission to this aquatic zone on Calle Caribeña.

The main water attractions are: Aquaracer, a four-lane, high-speed slide; Aquashute, a closed water tube; Body Vortex, a slide that “shoots” the person towards the pool; Kamikaze Slide, with a steep slope; and Stuka, a free-fall slide. The youngest visitors will also have fun at Splash Water World in Punta Cana, as the facilities include a children’s pool with slides and special attractions just for them. Lastly, the aquatic complex has a solarium, where visitors can relax and sunbathe in lounge chairs, and a bar for enjoying soft drinks, juices and water.

With this project, the hotel chain satisfies the demands of the most daring guests and completes the experience offered by these five RIU hotels in Punta Cana located on the Arena Gorda beach. Splash Water World is the latest innovation the hotel chain has introduced in the Dominican enclave in the 25 years since it first became established in this tropical paradise.
