Rezidor has announced the Park Inn Apartment Hotel Istanbul Esenyurt. The property with 484 keys will be Rezidor’s largest hotel in Turkey and increases the group’s portfolio in the country to 22 hotels with almost 4,000 rooms in operation or under development. The new apartment hotel will welcome the first guests in late 2017/early 2018.

“Turkey is a focus country for us. We carefully monitor the current turbulence, but believe in its long-term potential. The addition of a true Park Inn flagship will further strengthen our position in the market and facilitate the future development of Park Inn”, said Wolfgang M. Neumann, President & CEO of Rezidor.

“The hotel will be our first serviced apartments product in Turkey – an exciting market segment with growing demand. It will not only allow us to use operational and commercial synergies with our existing hotels in Istanbul, but also to unlock additional value for our guests and owners”, added Elie Younes, Executive Vice President & Chief Development Officer of Rezidor. The group now operates 8 hotels in Istanbul and has 4 further properties under development. Radisson Blu is the largest upper-upscale brand in town and complemented by the mid-market brand Park Inn.

The Park Inn Apartment Hotel Istanbul Esenyurt will be located in the Esenyurt district – an upcomig area reporting a construction boom of residential and retail complexes. It is also home to the Esenyurt University, and enjoys easy access to Ataturk Airport (15km) and the city center (30km). The hotel will be part of “Wish Istanbul”, a mixed-use 135,000m2 real estate development including two towers with 40+ floors and excellent visibility. The apartment hotel tower will include, besides 484 rooms and apartments, an all-day-dining restaurant, a lobby lounge, a pool bar & grill, a conference centre of 2,190sqm, a large spa (1,335sqm), an outdoor pool and garden, and 320 parking bays. “Wish Istanbul” is developed by ESEN SAGLIK. “We are proud and honored to work with Carlson Rezidor to develop “Wish Istanbul” as a new lifestyle destination in Istanbul,” commented Vahit Safak, Chairman of ESEN SAGLIK.

Istanbul is one of the 20 European cities preferred for real estate development (source: PWC). The city’s popularity is mainly attributed to its strategic location between Europe and Asia, strong economic growth prospects and young population. The Turkish government has increased its spending for several mega-construction projects in Istanbul – for example a third international airport, an extension of the road system and a third Bosphorus bridge.
