The Sol Hotels resort brand renews two more hotels in Mallorca

Meliá Hotels International continues to renew its resort hotel portfolio in Mallorca, introducing the new Sol brand concepts, adapted to the needs of a new type of customer and to provide truly differentiating experiences. For the beginning of the 2016 holiday season, the brand has presented the newly-renovated Sol Barbados (Magaluf) and Sol Calas de Mallorca (Cala Antena), which will become the new benchmarks for the traditional family holiday for Sol Hotels on the island.

Sol Barbados forms part of the Calvià Beach project to regenerate the destination of Magaluf. It is a four-star hotel with direct access to the beach, and very near all of the shopping and entertainment facilities in the resort. The hotel provides 429 totally renovated rooms, all bright and with modern design, ideal for up to four people (two adults and two children). They also have a furnished terrace, bathroom, air conditioning, flat-screen TV, safe, minibar and free Wi-Fi. The double rooms measure 25 m2, while the family provide two connected bedrooms over a total surface area of 48 m2.

This year the Sol Barbados will also feature a new lagoon-style swimming pool with different areas, sunbeds and gardens, in addition to the other two existing pools (one for children). The hotel has also created a full entertainment programme for both children and adults, introducing four new children’s clubs for all ages from infants to teenagers, and all supervised by a professional entertainment team. The hotel experience is completed by the new dining options, with an upgraded buffet restaurant, a snack bar, and a new bar and terrace by the pool.

On the other side of the island, the Sol Calas de Mallorca is the result of the comprehensive reform of the resort of the same name which the Company operates on the east coast of Mallorca. The hotel is now a new all-inclusive resort with a spectacular location overlooking the sea, above the cliffs and between the coves of Cala Domingos and Cala Antena. All of the hotel facilities are brand new, from its 240 spacious rooms (the standard room measures 37 m2) with sea views and Wi-Fi, two swimming pools, a sun terrace, a restaurant and pool bar, a gym and four children’s clubs, as well as new areas in the gardens and a marquee to enjoy throughout the day.
