LUX* signs 5-star hotel and residential project in Bodrum

LUX BodrumLUX* Resorts & Hotels is delighted to announce their management contract with one of the leading Turkish conglomerates, MYC Partners, for a mixed-use property project in the bustling city of Bodrum, a tourism and yachting hotspot in Turkey. The project will comprise a five-star, 60-room hotel and 75 high-end residences, 25 of which will be branded and operated by LUX*.

The hotel is planned to open in May 2017 and its architecture has already been awarded a Silver prize at the A’design Awards, Europe’s most prestigious architectural prize.

Bodrum is a peninsula site and an upmarket destination in Turkey, attracting nearly one million visitors and is often known as ‘the French Riviera of the region’. It is also home to the world-famous luxury marina, Yalihavak. Brand new golf courses are currently being designed and built on the Bodrum peninsula, while demand for property in Bodrum is also on the increase. The growing numbers of visitors in the area are also keen to make the most of the largely unspoilt expanses of nature still free from mass tourism.

MYC PARTNERS is a conglomerate that has been at the forefront of many industries in Turkey. They operate across sectors including health centres, finance and insurance, construction, property and hospitality.

Dr. Akdoğan, Chairman of MYC Partners, spoke highly of their new partnership with LUX*: “We were impressed by the expansion of LUX* globally and more importantly, the group’s focus on quality service. MYC Partners has high hopes for this project that will be a landmark in Turkey, competing with the big names in the luxury sector. Many big names in the global property and hotel space were vying for the management of the Bodrum hotel and the residential project, but the tenacity and professionalism of LUX* won our hearts and minds. We are keen on building a great partnership together.”

Paul Jones, Group CEO of LUX* also commented at a press conference held in Istanbul: “For us, this is a major step in our global expansion and our first venture in Europe. We have managed to bring our ‘Lighter and Brighter’ concept all the way to Europe, which was previously perceived as unattainable by a Mauritian hospitality group. We are proud to establish the LUX* brand in Europe after the Indian Ocean islands, China and UAE. This is no mean feat for our team members.”
