Shangri-La at the Fort, Manila set to open 1 March

Shangri-La at the Fort, Manila is set to open on 1 March at Bonifacio Global City, BGC, one of the fastest growing and vibrant developments in Metro Manila.  Housed in a landmark mixed-used complex with Kerry Sports Manila, the city’s largest banqueting space, extensive retail brands, Shangri-La Residences and premier Horizon Homes on the top floors, the 576-room hotel will feature five key lifestyle components — allowing guests to stay, relax, dine, shop, work out and play — in one of the tallest buildings in the Philippines.

All lifestyle components at the LEED Gold-certified Shangri-La at the Fort are singularly managed by Shangri-La, allowing seamless delivery of product and service, and a collaborative environment and community vibe that distinguishes it from other hotels.

“As a lifestyle complex, we look outwards, engaging and working with all the key components, not just the hotel,” said John Rice, general manager of Shangri-La at the Fort, Manila.  “BGC is known as the home of passionate minds, and our vision is to deliver contemporary luxury in one place, where people can collaborate, discover and explore on-trend facilities in a dynamic energetic location.”

Designed with accents of marble and silk in pale beige and ivory tones with light Italian wood paneling, the hotel’s minimalist style guestrooms and suites offer unparalleled city and bay views.

The Deluxe rooms are among the most spacious in the city, ranging from 45 to 47 square meters, and function as a place to conduct meetings or rest comfortably.  All are fitted with Shangri-La amenities, free Wi-Fi and modern luxuries.

The hotel’s beautifully appointed accommodation includes four Specialty Suites, named after the Philippine group of islands and the largest metropolis in the country, namely Luzon, Visayas, Mindanao and Manila.  Each are a private sanctuary with modern indulgences and postcard views across the vibrant city.  Guestroom floors have embroidered fabric wall panels made from jusi, a fabric made from Philippine pineapple fiber and natural weaves.

Enhancing guest experiences is Kerry Sports Manila, a first in the Philippines, with over 8,000 square meters of space spread across levels 5 and 6.  Available to fitness and wellness seekers are five core fitness zones, a spa with ten treatment rooms, tennis and squash courts, The Arena: an NBA-grade indoor basketball court with Pavi flooring, and a children’s Adventure Zone with party rooms.

The Grand Ballroom and function rooms, totaling 21 event spaces, are inspired by a jewelry box and outfitted with Lasvit chandeliers that resemble a woman’s necklace and wall panels that look like brooches.  The Grand Ballroom is the largest space and measures 1,800 square meters.

Wrapped around the complex and facing all directions at east — 5th Avenue, south — One Bonifacio High Street, west — 3rd Avenue and north — 30th Street are 36 luxury retail brands.  The east podium houses some shops and the Grand Ballroom, while the bulk of the retail shops, hotel residences, guestrooms and Horizon Homes are located in the 62-floor west tower.

An incredible portfolio of 14 restaurants and bars are operated in the complex: seven are hotel managed and the other seven are run by independent operators.  The hotel’s dining and bar concepts include Samba, a South American restaurant and bar located at level 8 poolside serving Spanish, Mediterranean and Philippine cuisine with tropical-inspired cocktails.  Canton Road, a restaurant specializing in Cantonese and Huaiyang cuisines also offers signature barbecue roasts.  In addition, the Raging Bull Chophouse and Bar features grain and grass-fed dry-aged beef, premium grilled items, fresh seafood and gourmet comfort food, as well as an extensive selection of New World and Old World wines.

Making up the hotel’s dining portfolio are Raging Bull Burgers, a burger shop; High Street Cafe, a modern food hall; High Street Lounge, a social spot for coffee and tea; and Limitless, a two-level bar dedicated to artisanal cocktails and bar snacks.

Creating a new benchmark in style, the Shangri-La Residences – a collection of 97 one-, two- and three-bedroom apartments – are available for guests who prefer apartment-style living in a hotel setting, while 98 private Horizon Homes answer to those who prefer the rare luxury of space and spectacular views.
