Four Seasons Hotel Casablanca now open to welcome guests

Four Seasons Hotel Casablanca, a new ocean-side hotel in Morocco’s largest city, is now celebrating its grand opening with special offers for its first guests.

The 186-room Hotel cascades down toward the Atlantic, providing a luxurious retreat inspired by ocean waves and kissed by cool breezes.  Most guest rooms and suites have balconies to take in the fresh sea air, and the hotel’s signature restaurant and lobby lounge face the ocean.

“With the city centre and financial district just 10 minutes away, it’s hard to imagine that this breezy, resort-like hotel is in the middle of such a busy urban metropolis,” says General Manager Olivier Thomas, who leads a team of 325 carefully-selected staff who are excited to welcome the hotel’s first guests.  “For business travellers, it’s the perfect home base in the city, and for those on holiday, it’s truly the best of both worlds.”

Located in the Anfa neighbourhood of Casablanca, the city’s most upscale residential district, the hotel’s restaurants and bars create a lively atmosphere for gatherings with friends, family and colleagues.

Executive Chef Thierry Papillier’s culinary roots are showcased in Bleu, a contemporary French brasserie featuring a unique elliptical open kitchen and terrace seating that allows guests to listen to the sea as they savour its bounty.  Wave-like floor-to-ceiling windows look out to the Atlantic, with outdoor terraces lined with glass railing for unobstructed views.  Inside, white marble flooring, wooden columns and banquette seating are the perfect backdrop to a Provençal-influenced menu.

Bleu Bar is adjacent to the restaurant, and guests may also choose Mint, an inviting lobby lounge offering cocktails and an all-day menu, that’s also the ideal place to indulge in Executive Pastry Chef Thierry Metee’s delights during daily afternoon tea.  Another restaurant and lounge, the poolside Latitude 33, will open next spring.

For private business dinners and intimate celebrations, a cocoon-shaped private dining room with its own ocean-view terrace accommodates up to 12 guests around a white marble table.

Families and those escaping for a getaway weekend will love the resort-like feel of Four Seasons Hotel Casablanca, and business travellers will welcome a few moments of relaxation in the Spa or by the pool.

Le Spa incorporates Moroccan influences with contrasting colours, patterns and textures. Traditional-style perforated lanterns cast a gentle glow on gold design accents inspired by the country’s famous Argan oil. Here, a balneo aquatic experience with experience showers, an ice fountain, whirlpool and steam rooms await, as well as a 24-hour gym.  Spa Manager Gaëlle Peiffer and her team of expert therapists perform their magic in ten treatment rooms, including two couples’ suites.  For the travelling family, treatments for teens and children over the age of six are also on the menu.

Sheltered by the hotel building on three sides, the 149-square metre (1,604 square foot) resort-style pool is surrounded by lush landscaping and five private cabanas available to hotel guests based on availability. The pool is open year-round.

Outside the hotel, myriad distractions include shopping for traditional wares at the Habous medina and international labels at designer stores and malls, or exploring the city’s historic sites and regional attractions. Day trips to Marrakech can be arranged, and, with ten world-class courses within an hour of the hotel, golfers will want to be sure to pack their clubs.

Four Seasons Hotel Casablanca boasts 1,150 square metres (12,400 square feet) of flexible event space, including the gorgeous Atlantic Ballroom. Lit by a series of custom-made chandeliers comprised of hundreds of crystal rods as well as large traditional-style bronze lanterns, it’s a grand setting for weddings, social events and corporate functions.  At 580 square feet (6,240 square metres), it can accommodate up to 400 seated guests or 800 for a reception.

Additional options begin by dividing the Atlantic Ballroom into two junior-size ballrooms, and there are seven additional function rooms all easily accessible from the Hotel’s lobby. Of special note is the Lighthouse Room, a more intimate space on the main level that boasts a private balcony with sweeping views of the ocean and the 100-year-old El Hank lighthouse.
