Carlson Rezidor Hotel Group today announced the signing of a multiple-property deal with Saphir Group for Radisson RED Jakarta CBD, Radisson RED Bali Legian Camakila, Radisson Bali Legian Camakila and Radisson Bali Tanjung Benoa. With this deal, Carlson Rezidor will introduce Radisson RED to Indonesia, grow the Radisson brand and almost double its hotel pipeline in this market. The two Radisson RED properties will be new builds, while the two Radisson branded properties will open by Jan. 1, 2016.
“We are pleased to welcome on board a new partner in the key market of Indonesia, where strong growth opportunities are supported by the government’s pro-tourism measures. With this four-property deal, that includes three hotels in Bali, one of the country’s top tourist destinations, as well as one in the gateway city of Jakarta, we continue to reinforce our presence in Indonesia, a key market for us in Asia Pacific,” said Thorsten Kirschke, president, Asia Pacific, Carlson Rezidor Hotel Group.
Carlson Rezidor now has a total of nine hotels under development in Indonesia. The other five are Radisson Blu Bali Uluwatu, Radisson Golf & Convention Center Batam, Radisson Jakarta Cengkareng, Radisson Medan and Park Inn by Radisson Lampung.
Radisson RED is Carlson Rezidor’s upscale Lifestyle Select brand, which appeals to the millennial-minded traveller. It offers guests a non-traditional stay experience that combines work and play, and is inspired by design, art, music and fashion. At the same time, the brand offers developers and property owners a lower per-key cost than a traditional upscale hotel, through a multi-functional approach and more efficient space planning, which significantly reduce construction and operating costs, while driving higher margins.
James Kantono, Director, Saphir Group said, “Carlson Rezidor has the right brands, an excellent reputation and deep expertise. We are confident that our partnership will deliver strong returns on our investment.”
Radisson RED Jakarta CBD is a 36-room new build hotel located in the heart of Jakarta, along one of the capital city’s main thoroughfares, where several banks, MNCs, embassies and retail malls are located. The property will feature Radisson RED elements including a Hi All Gallery where locally-inspired art is incorporated into the overall design and food and beverage outlets such as Ouibar and the 24-hour REDeli. Radisson RED Jakarta CBD is expected to open in 2019.
Radisson RED Bali Legian Camakila is a 130-room new build beachfront hotel in Bali. Facing the popular Legian Beach, the hotel offers easy access to dive sites and a range of sea sports such as waterskiing and surfing. Shopping enclaves, temples and a water theme park are all within easy reach. Kuta and Seminyak are just a ten-minute drive from the hotel and Ngurah Rai International Airport is 20 minutes away. Radisson RED Bali Legian Camakila is expected to open in 2018.
Radisson Bali Legian Camakila is a 120-room beachfront property. In addition to direct beach access, Radisson Bali Legian Camakila will have a lagoon pool and a beachfront pool as well as meeting facilities and will open by Jan. 1, 2016.
Radisson Bali Tanjung Benoa is a 190-room property featuring rooms and villas, located close to the tip of the Tanjung Benoa peninsula, in the Nusa Dua region of Bali. Nestled within lush landscaped gardens, the resort will offer guests direct access to the beach as well as a beachfront swimming pool. Radisson Bali Tanjung Benoa will open by Jan. 1, 2016.
Across Asia Pacific, Carlson Rezidor has 101 hotels in operation and 90 more under development.
