Marriott International is pleased to announce its debut into Taiwan with the opening of the Taipei Marriott Hotel. The Taipei Marriott Hotel is the first five-star international hotel in the Dazhi area of Taipei, the capital’s new commercial hub. The largest integrated destination complex in Taiwan, the Taipei Marriot offers 320 luxury hotel rooms, a modern convention center, a high-end shopping mall and luxury apartments.
The Taipei Marriott Hotel is only 10 minutes from Songshan International Airport and five minutes from Neihu Technology Park by car. The MRT Jiannan Rd. station, Mt. Jiannan Trail and Miramar Shopping Center are also short walks away. The Taipei Marriott Hotel is the closest five-star hotel to the National Palace Museum, a favorite cultural attraction for both locals and visitors.
“We are delighted to open our doors and welcome guests to Taiwan’s first Marriott branded hotel,” said Henry Lee, Chief Operations Officer for Marriott International, Greater China. “Our close proximity to important landmarks, gorgeous settings and modern facilities make the Taipei Marriott Hotel the ideal choice for business travelers and vacationers who want a high end experience and easy access to commerce, culture and recreation. Local elements of Taiwan’s charm have been incorporated as a part of the first Marriott hotel in Taiwan while at the same time highlighting the quintessential brand characteristics that have made Marriott a worldwide success.”
The Taipei Marriott Hotel is a new destination with never-before-seen features and experiences, including the largest hotel ballroom in Taipei and a rooftop garden and chapel. Its lush green landscape surroundings offer an oasis to travelers who seek escape after a long day in bustling Taipei. As a part of Marriott’s “Green Hotel Development” initiative, indigenous shrubbery and flowering plants can be found throughout the grounds interspersed with pieces of art and sitting areas. Inspired by the nearby butterfly biosphere reserve on Mt. Jiannan, an aluminium sculpture named “Butterflies” and created by Spanish artist Manolo Valdes, sits in the center of the landscape to serve as a tribute to nature and the arts.
The Taipei Marriott Hotel offers spacious guestrooms and suites which range in size from 430 to 860 square feet, as well as the lavish 2,370-square-foot Presidential Suite. The contemporary design includes a neutral color palette of ivory, cream and gray, accentuated by unobstructed views of Taipei through floor-to-ceiling windows. The window-side plush chaise in each room invites guest to relax, while the bath experience offers an added touch of luxury with double vanities and rain showers as well as other deluxe amenities. Each guestroom also features high-speed Internet access and a spacious work area.
