The Berlin-based property developer GBI AG has fully completed the construction of the Hampton by Hilton Frankfurt City Centre Messe comprising 158 guest rooms. The hotel will be handed over on Monday, 14 September 2015, to the hotel operator Foremost Hospitality. The opening ceremony will also take place on that day.
The new hotel is located in the new Frankfurt Europaviertel next to the trade fair grounds with excellent transport links. Hereby, Hampton by Hilton Frankfurt City Centre Messe is an ideal starting point for manifold activities of business travelers and tourists. As Hubert van de Loo, Managing Director of Foremost Hospitality, puts it: “We are very happy to operate a hotel at this top location in the heart of Frankfurt between the banking district, the Frankfurt trade fair and the main train station. The trade fair and the congress center are only a five minute walk away from the hotel.” He adds: “GBI AG and the Foremost Group can rely on a long-standing successful business relationship. Our next joint hotel project will be the conversion of the former tower of the Gotha Insurance Company in Cologne”.
The Hampton by Hilton Frankfurt City Centre Messe Hotel is the second hotel of the Hampton by Hilton brand the Foremost Group opens in Germany. Its guests will enjoy a fresh design with modern facilities including a fitness centre as well as a stylish lobby with a bar, leisure zone and a business centre. In addition, the hotel offers complementary hot breakfast and free Wi-Fi access.
The Hampton by Hilton Frankfurt City Centre Messe Hotel is part of a mixed-use development of GBI AG together with a Capri by Fraser, a long-stay product of the Singapore-based Frasers Centrepoint Limited, and a Premier Inn budget hotel of the British Whitbread Group in Frankfurt’s Baufeld Nord 2 development area. The entire project has a volume of approx. EUR 70 million.
The Hampton by Hilton Frankfurt City Centre Messe Hotel had been sold by GBI AG already in the summer of 2014 to insurers Württembergische Lebensversicherung AG.
“We are pleased that we were able to implement the project jointly with our partner Foremost Hospitality on time and in budget. The sale of the hotel a year before completion and the already high demand for rooms show that our decisions on the location and our design concept were correct”, says Reiner Nittka, Member of the Board of GBI AG. GBI realized early the potential of the former freight train station area as a hotel location. Already in last year, GBI had completed two other hotels at that location: a Motel One and a Citadines. Next year, the development will be completed by an Adina apartment hotel. “For us as property developers, the Frankfurt hotel market is of exceptional importance,” comments Reiner Nittka.
The structural design and the facade of the Hampton by Hilton was provided by PBMG Architects in close coordination with the City of Frankfurt.
