InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG), one of the world’s leading hotel companies, announces the opening of the Holiday Inn Natal hotel. The new build, 216-room property is located in the northeastern city of Natal, the capital and largest city of the State of Rio Grande do Norte in Brazil. The hotel is situated in the heart of the Lagoa Nova district, an area home to popular restaurants and bars as well as multiple shopping centers and two universities: the Rio Grande do Norte Federal University and Universidade Potiguar.

The hotel’s location is ideal for international and domestic travelers interested in being near local businesses as well as the city’s top tourist destinations. Rio Grande do Norte is the second largest oil-producing state in Brazil, making the city of Natal an important hub for the oil industry.
Home to the capital’s most famous beach, Ponta Negra, the city is also recognized for its natural sites such as the Morro do Careca and historical monuments and buildings including the Forte dos Reis Magos, the Alberto Maranhão Theatre and Newton Navarro bridge. Guests will also be near the Estadio das Dunas stadium, one of the venues for the 2014 FIFA World Cup and now home to the America de Natal and ABC Futebol Clube football teams.
