Costa del Sol is a Peruvian hotel chain with properties across the country’s most important travel destinations such as Cusco, the gateway to Machu Picchu. This year, the company is celebrating its 20th anniversary doing business in the country. It opened its first head office in the frontier city of Tumbes in northern Peru in 1995. In subsequent years, it continued to grow with hotels in Piura, Chiclayo, and Cajamarca. In 2010, the company acquired a Cusco relic: the mansion of the Marquis de Picoaga, an architectural jewel from Peru’s colonial period.
