Integrated resort taking shape at Laguna Lang Co in Vietnam

Laguna Lang Co, developer of Laguna Lang Co in Thua Thien-Hue province, is moving forward with Phase II of its master plan development: a condominium development and additional residential hill villas overlooking the East Sea. Phase I was comprised of a 57-villa Banyan Tree resort, 229 room Angsana resort, luxury residences, Nick Faldo designed championship golf course, two spas, ten restaurants and bars and a conference center. Phase IIA will include additional luxury accommodations and the possible addition of a gaming facility.

Andrew Klebanow, a partner at Global Market Advisors, the firm that conducted the gaming market assessment for the games facility, commented on the feasibility of the resort as a gaming resort destination, “Few people outside of the Asian hospitality industry realise the breadth and scope of Laguna Lang Co. The project is similar to Laguna Phuket – only master planned on a far grander scale. This will ultimately be an iconic resort destination that will exceed the expectations of those who have ever seen Laguna Phuket. The addition of a games club will only enhance the vacation experience for guests staying at Laguna Lang Co.”

A Request For Concepts for the gaming facility was issued on May 26, 2015 and is due on August 6, 2015. The selection of a gaming operator is expected to coincide with the convening of the National Assembly in early 2016 and subsequent discussions about how to proceed with gaming and tourism development, and the creation of a more robust regulatory regime and gaming licensing policy.
