The five-star La Manga Club resort in Murcia, south-east Spain, has enhanced its forward-thinking reputation among the world’s top sports and leisure destination resorts with two exciting additions to its management team.
Experienced marketeer Samuel Gmez-Rey has been named as the new Assistant Director of Resort Marketing, while Raquel Martn has been appointed as the new Director of the resort’s luxury Spa La Manga Club.
Gmez-Rey, 40, has spent the last 10 years working for global electrical distribution giant the Sonepar Group, helping to define, create and implement a range of different partnerships and marketing strategies, and is relishing the chance to take his career in a new direction at the resort.
ÒBeing part of the team at Europe’s most iconic sports and leisure resort is a very exciting professional challenge,Ó said Mr Gmez-Rey. ÒLa Manga Club is working hard on a range of ambitious new plans for the next few years, and I’m looking forward to contributing to its successful future.Ó
Joining Mr Gmez-Rey at La Manga Club is Ms Martn, who began her new role at the Spa last month and is already planning some exciting new additions, including the introduction of Oriental therapies to the range of treatments available and developing new partnerships with cosmetic firms.
ÒSpa La Manga Club is located in a fantastic position, away from the rest of the hotel’s facilities,Ó said Ms Martin. ÒIt’s like an Ôisland’ within marvellous surroundings of peace and tranquility.
ÒI want to make it so that when a client enters our facilities, they forget everything about their lives until they leave. La Manga Club is one of the top names in sports and leisure tourism, and it’s a great honour for me to have the opportunity to strengthen its reputation, both in Spain and abroad.Ó
Set in an area three times the size of Monaco, La Manga Club’s outstanding facilities include three 18-hole golf courses and newly-rebranded Golf Training Centre, a 28-court tennis centre and eight full-size football pitches.
Widely regarded as Spain’s flagship resort, La Manga Club Ð which is also the official overseas training base of the Lawn Tennis Association Ð has won numerous leading accolades in recent years including, most recently, being voted ÔBest Golf Resort in Spain’ by UK readers of Today’s Golfer magazine for the sixth year in a row.
A popular destination for some of sports most famous names including Barcelona, Liverpool and Great Britain’s Davis Cup team, the resort’s other facilities include a 2,000 square meters luxury spa and fitness complex, a five-star hotel, four-star serviced apartments and townhouses and more than 20 bars and restaurants.
