CopperWynd Resort & Club has named veteran Valley of the Sun hotel leader Jeremy Dougherty general manager. Dougherty comes to CopperWynd from Sanctuary Camelback Mountain Resort & Spa where he was general manager.  Immediately before that, he was opening general manager at the Graduate Hotel Tempe.  Earlier in his career, Dougherty had worked at Sanctuary – as resort manager and, before that, revenue and reservations manager. He also had served as director of guest operations at Hotel Valley Ho in Scottsdale.

Following the announcement, CopperWynd Resort CEO Bill Hinz said “Appointing Jeremy is one of our final steps in putting together the team that will take CopperWynd to new levels of competitive excellence, as a luxury resort, a first-class club and spa, and as a wellness-fitness pioneer. Since taking over this property in early 2015, we have been rebuilding it, step by step, with staff appointments geared at upping our game.”

“We are delighted that Jeremy has come on board as the leader of this excellent team. He brings the leadership skills, the hospitality expertise, and the energetic verve we want as we climb to the next level,” continued Hinz.

An ultramarathoner, Dougherty often runs with Team Red White & Blue, an organization that enriches the lives of American veterans by connecting them to their community through physical and social activity.
