Melissa Lane has been promoted to General Manager of Hilton Fort Lauderdale Marina, with responsibilities of overseeing the 598-room resort style property overlooking the Intracoastal waterways of Fort Lauderdale, Florida and across the street from Broward County Convention Center.
“Melissa has a strong background in developing sales and marketing programs as well as increasing hotel ADR and maintaining successful management teams.” said Ted Ratcliff, senior vice president, operations east for Hilton Worldwide. “She has been instrumental in the success of our hotels in Texas and recently in Deerfield Beach.”
Lane most recently was the general manager at Embassy Suites by Hilton Deerfield Beach, a post she held since 2010. Prior, she was resident manager at Hilton Americas in Houston, where she was responsible for the overall operations of the 1,200 room convention hotel since 2005. Lane began her extensive hospitality career in 1980 in Fort Worth, Texas at the Worthington Hotel where she was promoted to several positions including director of front office and assistant director of housekeeping. In 1991, she joined Embassy Suites hotel in Park Central, Dallas as executive housekeeper before advancing into Sales where she became the sales and marketing director in 1997. In 1999, as general manager, she successfully opened The Doubletree Club Hotel in Farmers Branch, Texas where she remained until 2003 when she became general manager of Doubletree Campbell Centre. In 2005, she was named general manager of Hilton DFW before joining Hilton Americas team as resident manager and then the team in Deerfield Beach.
