Centara Hotels & Resorts is proud to announce the appointment of Executive Chef Yvan Marclay at the Centara Grand Island Resort & Spa Maldives.
Chef Yvan Marclay will be leading the resorts culinary team as Executive Chef and is expected to make changes to its kitchen operation to meet the culinary demands of the resorts guests. The 5 star Centara Grand Island Resort & Spa Maldives which has recently completed a major renovation has 112 rooms with 4 different dining options. Its signature restaurant ‘Suan-Bua’ provides very authentic Thai cuisine. The Azzuri Mare offers tantalizing Italian cuisine while the resorts main restaurant The Reef focuses on providing themed international buffets with ‘live’ cooking stations.
Chef Yvan is a Swiss national who started his culinary career in 1982 as an apprentice in Switzerland. Since then he has worked with well-known hotels such as Hotel Pollux in Zermatt, Hotel Metropole in Interlaken and Hotel Basel Hilton International, all in Switzerland, as well as at the Hilton Kuching – Malaysia, Hilton Ramses – Cairo, Hilton Nairobi, Hilton – Al Ain, Hilton – Abu Dhabi and laterly at the Waldorf Astoria and Jeddah Hilton.
Chef Yvan has 34 years of experience operating at the very highest level in his field and has been an Executive Chef for the past 19 years.
