Henry Gray appointed Vice President, Operations – Hotels and Resorts with Six Senses

Henry GraySix Senses Hotels Resorts Spas has announced the appointment of Henry Gray to the role of Vice President, Operations – Hotels and Resorts. No stranger to Six Senses’ philosophy, values and culture, Henry was the group’s area director for Thailand from 2007 to 2009, responsible for the resorts in Phuket, Hua Hin, Yao Noi and Samui.

Henry’s career has been focused on high-end boutique properties and organizations that include Amanresorts and the Oberoi Group, re-joining Six Senses from his recent role for the operational organization of a privately owned luxury country estate development in Hampshire, United Kingdom.

A graduate of Henley College in the UK and with over 30 years of international management experience in the hospitality world, Henry started his journey as the Resident Manager of Marina Cay Resort, in the British Virgin Islands. He moved on to become the General Manager of Amandari in Bali and was involved in the launching and opening of new properties for Amanresorts around the world.

Henry is a proud Scotsman who has lived and worked in 11 different countries, together with his wife Char. Besides immersing himself in the social culture of the countries where he has been based, he occupies his mind with politics, wine and spirits, the human resources of each opening in a new country and sustainable development.

When he is not indulging in his interests, Henry’’s passion includes wine collecting, sports and vintage cars, and an occasional game of golf when time permits. He enjoys baking, boasting that his best recipes are a delicious flourless chocolate cake and salted caramel chocolate brownies.

Henry will be based in the Six Senses Home Office in Bangkok.
