With a dedicated focus on development, Small Luxury Hotels of the World (SLH) has announced the appointment of Victor Wong to the role of Vice President Development, Asia Pacific. Wong, who will work closely with newly appointed Vice President, Asia Pacific, Mark Wong, has been with Small Luxury Hotels of the World for four years with a partial remit of development. His new role will see him take full responsibility in expanding relationships with new hotels to the brand.
Filip Boyen, CEO, Small Luxury Hotels of The World said: “Victor has done a great job in his four years with SLH. He has been instrumental in negotiating some of our flagship hotels such as The President by Akaryn, Ventiane and The Tokyo Station Hotel, Tokyo. This newly created role will see him dedicate 100 per cent of his time to driving the development strategy within Asia Pacific”.
Wong has 16 years of experience in hospitality, during which he has overseen sales, marketing and development in his various roles. Of his new position, Wong said: “There is huge potential within Asia Pacific and it’s great to be given the bandwidth to further reinvigorate and build on Small Luxury Hotels of the World’s footprint.”
Wong’s new role is with immediate effect and comes shortly after news of a £12 million investment into Small Luxury Hotel of the World by the company’s management.
Small Luxury Hotels of the World has a collection of over 520 hotels in 80 countries and has this year already added a 24 new hotels including Naman Retreat, Da Nang and 137 Pillars Suites, Bangkok.
