Small Luxury Hotels of the World has announced the appointment of Mark Wong to the newly created role of Vice President, Asia Pacific. The move sees SLH progress its drive to execute an ambitious growth plan following a recent restructure and £12 million pound investment into the brand by the management company.
Wong is familiar to Small Luxury Hotels of the World as he enjoyed a successful two year stint as Area Director, Asia Pacific in 2009. Based in the Singapore office, he returns with overall responsibility for the group’s strategic direction across operations, distribution, product development, sales and marketing for the region. His remit also includes maintenance and strengthening of hotelier relationships.
Originally from Singapore, Wong has over 20 years’ experience working in the hospitality industry and has unrivalled expertise across development, marketing and sales. Prior to Small Luxury Hotels of the World, he worked as Vice President for SilverNeedle Hospitality where he was responsible for development of the group’s loyalty program. He has also previously held senior positions with American Express and Preferred Hotel Group, working internationally in Singapore, New York and Hong Kong.
