The Westin La Paloma Resort & Spa is pleased to announce the appointments of hospitality innovators Maria Elena Armenta and Marc Van Dam as group account directors and Deborah Weiss as group sales manager. With more than 65 years of collective experience in sales, the three industry veterans will continue to grow the iconic resort’s group sales.
“Each of these team members bring forth extensive knowledge with a proven track record of accomplishments in the hospitality realm,” said General Manager, Glenn Sampert. “We look forward to witnessing their continued achievements as they work towards surpassing our resort goals.”
Joining the sales team as group account director, Maria Elena Armenta will be responsible for all group business within the Northeast. She joins The Westin La Paloma as a results-driven senior sales and marketing professional with a history of streamlining operations, improving productivity, and enhancing market share. Armenta previously served as the regional director at the Preferred Hotel Group in Miami. Throughout her career Armenta has been recognized as an effective team leader who is committed to building brand identities and driving home customer service excellence.
Experienced sales and business development professional, Marc Van Dam, will also be joining the team as a group account director for the resort based in Dallas, Texas and is responsible for the Midwest and Eastern Canada markets. Prior to joining The Westin La Paloma Resort & Spa, Van Dam served as the North American sales director for Savision Inc. as well as an independent consultant for PHM Hospitality Inc., where he completed various projects that led to an increase in overall sales productivity. In his new position, Van Dam looks to showcase his skills as an accomplished professional with successful quota attainment and the ability to build superior client and partner relationships.
Deborah Weiss returns to the AAA Four Diamond Westin La Paloma with 30 years of hospitality sales experience. As group sales manager, Weiss will be responsible for marketing the resort to the Southern California and Western Canadian markets. Prior to her current role, Weiss was sales manager for the Omni Tucson National Golf Resort, special projects coordinator for the Tucson Business Committee for the Arts, and a financial planner for American Capital Financial Services. Weiss has also been credited with recently completing a historic home renovation and partaking in a plethora of local volunteer activities.
