Danny Sanchez-Toro appointed General Manager Holiday Inn Express hotel near JFK

Danny Sanchez-ToroM&R Hotel Management, operator of 16 hotels including 13 in New York, has announced the appointment of Danny Sanchez-Toro as general manager of the 129-room Holiday Inn Express New York JFK Airport Area near John F. Kennedy International Airport in Jamaica, New York.

Danny Sanchez-Toro, a 17-year hospitality industry veteran who has managed hotels in New York, Connecticut, Florida and Wisconsin, oversees all aspects of the hotel’s operations including sales, marketing, security, maintenance, housekeeping and accounting.

He most recently served M&R Hotel Management as assistant general manager of the Holiday Inn L.I. City – Manhattan View in Long Island City, New York. Prior to joining M&R, he was director of rooms at the former Holiday Inn North Haven Hotel in Connecticut from 2008 to 2012 and front office manager at the Connecticut Grand Hotel in Waterbury, Connecticut, from 2006 to 2007.

Sanchez-Toro took a two-year leave from the hotel industry to serve Carnival Cruise Lines as embarkation staff supervisor in Miami, Florida, from 2004-2005. Earlier in his career, he was guest services manager at the Hyatt Regency Pier Sixty-Six Hotel in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, and assistant front office manager of the Hyatt Regency Milwaukee, in Wisconsin.

“Danny Sanchez-Toro’s years of experience working in hotels, including in managerial positions at Holiday Inn hotels, qualifies him to manage our Holiday Inn Express New York JFK Airport,” said Brian M. McSherry, M&R Hotel Management chief operating officer.

Sanchez-Toro earned a bachelor’s degree in organizational communication and rhetorical studies at Marquette University, Milwaukee. He was certified in front office management by InterContinental Hotels Group, parent of the Holiday Inn and Holiday Inn Express brands, and is fluent in English and Spanish.

Sanchez-Toro serves LaGuardia Community College, Long Island City, as an adjunct instructor in its Travel, Tourism & Hospitality Management program.

The Holiday Inn Express New York JFK Airport at 153-70 South Conduit Ave. features king, queen and double rooms and a guest laundry. Complimentary amenities include 24-hour fitness and business centers, shuttle service to JFK, Express Start hot breakfast, Wi-Fi throughout the building, bottled water and daily newspaper.
