Thailand-based ONYX Hospitality Group appoints Ingo Domaschke as General Manager of the soon to re-open Amari Koh Samui.

With a career spanning over 20 years in the hospitality industry, Mr. Domaschke has worked in Europe, USA and Asia before joining ONYX in 2008, where he held management roles at both Amari Watergate Bangkok and Amari Residences Bangkok before serving as general manager of OZO Chaweng Samui in 2014.

In his current role, Mr. Domaschke will oversee both OZO Chaweng Samui and Amari Koh Samui, which is scheduled to re-open on 1 April 2016 following a full refurbishment. The resort will feature 197 rooms across three wings, Thai Village Wing, Garden Wing and Beach Wing. Each guest room will be infused with contemporary Thai-style décor, featuring a blend of soothing earth tones, taking inspiration from the sea and the island’s locale.

Commenting on his role, Mr. Domaschke said: “I am looking forward to welcoming our first guests to Amari Koh Samui. This is when the hotel will truly come to life following the 12-month transformation. Along with a new look, the resort will showcase Thailand’s first Amaya Food Gallery, our new all-day dining concept inspired by Asia’s popular street markets, Breeze Spa and the Voyager Lounge, which is unique to selected Amari locations. It has been a wonderful experience seeing everything come together and I believe the new look will enhance the warmth and energy of an evolving modern Asia for which the Amari brand is known for, whilst offering memorable moments for our guests.”
