Waldorf Astoria Beverly Hills, the highly-anticipated luxury hotel set to open in early 2017, is excited to announce that Luc Delafosse has been appointed to the position of managing director for the iconic brand’s debut in  Beverly Hills.

In his newly created role, Delafosse will oversee the hotel’s day-to-day operations, as well as all aspects of the property’s creative direction, unprecedented luxury experience and Personal Concierge service. In bringing one of the world’s most prestigious hotel brands to Beverly Hills, Delafosse will be instrumental in continuing the elegant, signature True Waldorf Service, while introducing seamless digital touches that enhance the guest experience. Waldorf Astoria Beverly Hills’ clean, contemporary design, which draws its inspiration from the rich history of California’s Streamlined Moderne style, will deliver a combination of luxury and ease that has never existed before.

Located adjacent to The Beverly Hilton on the corner of Wilshire and Santa Monica Boulevards in Beverly Hills, the 12-story, 170-room luxury hotel will be the brand’s first new build property on the West Coast and will join the Waldorf Astoria portfolio of 25 landmark destinations.

“Our goal is to provide our guests with the Waldorf experience — creating a new sense of luxury and an unforgettable stay that goes beyond the guest expectation,” said Delafosse. “A key point in our service entails building a friendship with our guests so they feel a sense of home when they’re with us. This means understanding and anticipating their needs, and making recommendations that will enrich their time at the Waldorf Astoria Beverly Hills.”

Delafosse brings over three decades of experience working with international luxury hospitality brands. Most recently, he served as general manager and managing director of Hotel de Crillon in Paris, France. Prior to that, he held the position of head of hotels for Capital Construction & Development in London, preceded by four years at Burj Al Arab in Dubai and seven years at The Ritz London. A graduate of Brevet de Technicien Hotelier and Ealing University, Delafosse has held significant management and operations positions with established luxury hotel brands including Hotel Mirabeau and Le Touquet France.

“The Waldorf Astoria Beverly Hills will provide an authentic California luxury experience that no other hotel can provide,” said Beny Alagem, owner of Waldorf Astoria Beverly Hills. “We understand that fine hospitality is an art form and service needs to be genuine and tailored to each guest’s personal preferences. Under Luc’s direction, we found someone who embodies the definition of world-class luxury service and who lives and breathes the exclusive experience of Waldorf Astoria hotels.

“We are delighted to welcome Luc Delafosse in his leadership role as managing director of the Waldorf Astoria Beverly Hills,” said John T.A. Vanderslice, global head, Waldorf Astoria Hotels & Resorts. “Luc has impeccable credentials and we are confident that he will set both the tempo and creative direction to lead a world-class hotel team, inspiring them to create exceptional experiences that become extraordinary memories for our discerning guests.”

The hotel will feature a triple-height lobby with a contemporary Art Deco design, the signature Waldorf Astoria clock, hand-painted murals of California landscapes, and custom chandeliers. Every single detail of the hotel’s design brings a combination of luxury and California ease to the Waldorf Astoria brand that has never existed before. Each of the 170 guestrooms will feature unrivaled views and floor-to-ceiling windows that open onto oversized private balconies, comfortably furnished and landscaped to create a Beverly Hills Lanai that brings the outdoors inside.

On the third level, spacious Villa Suites will open onto manicured private garden terraces. The rooftop pool deck will be the largest rooftop destination of its kind in Beverly Hills and will include landscaping, VIP cabanas, lounge areas and a swimming pool specifically for hotel guests. The hotel will also bring exclusive services to Los Angeles, featuring inspirational cuisine with an award-winning chef that will be proprietary to Waldorf Astoria Beverly Hills. This one-of-a-kind property will highlight select luxury retailers and a world-class 5,000 square-foot Waldorf Astoria Spa with recognized management and products.

Waldorf Astoria Beverly Hills will participate in Hilton HHonors, the guest loyalty program where guests who book directly through www.waldorfastoria.com have access to benefits including digital check-in, choose your room, and complimentary Wi-Fi at over 20 Waldorf Astoria hotels worldwide.
