Furama Bukit Bintang, Kuala Lumpur is pleased to announce the appointment of Victor You Chee Keong as its new Executive Chef and his assistant, Siti Arini Binti Darsom as Executive Sous Chef.
Executive Chef, Victor You Chee Keong
Victor You is an experienced chef with 23 years of culinary experience specializing in fusion cuisine. Victor has served in well-known international hotels in Malaysia, Singapore, Dubai and China including an international luxury cruise liner. In addition to his experience and knowledge, Victor also possesses certification in Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP), a food management safety system which is an important requirement in the present world to ensure safe and healthy food preparation practices.
Victor You heads the overall administration and operation of the kitchen and his responsibilities encompass creating menus, maintaining a moderate food cost while maximizing revenue in the food and beverage division of the hotel. He is also responsible for supervising food production and presentation, its quality and taste and training his team of cooks and chefs.
Siti Arini Darsom, Executive Sous Chef
Siti Arini, Executive Sous Chef brings with her credentials of 11 years of culinary experience from well acclaimed restaurants and international hotel chains in Malaysia. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Human Development from University Putra Malaysia and a Certificate in Catering. Siti Arini started her culinary journey in 2004 and has since worked her way up from a Commis Chef to her present position as the assistant to the Executive Chef.
She specializes in Western, Italian and fusion cuisine. Siti Arini has achieved numerous awards including winner of Best Commis “Confrerie de la Chaine des Rotisseurs” Malaysia in 2005, gold medal in Salon Culinaire 2007, two gold awards for Malaysia International Gourmet Festival 2013 and three gold awards for Malaysia International Gourmet Festival 2014.
Victor You and Siti Arini will be working jointly to bring about a new flavours for Furama Bukit Bintang and a new wave of culinary sensation to the hotel’s food and beverage division.
