Macdonald Hotels & Resorts, the UK’s largest independent hotel group, has made a new appointment to its senior spa team. Joanne Rosenthal has been appointed the new Spa Manager at the luxury hotel, Macdonald Manchester.

Keen to take their guest experience to the next level, Macdonald Manchester required a manager with vast experience combined with a clear understanding of internal spa operations, therapy and in-house product knowledge. Having trained in IHBC Beauty Therapy and Electrology, in addition to IHHHT Aromatherapy and Reflexology, Joanne is also a qualified beauty lecturer having had her work published in consumer titles.

Having gained her credentials at Warrington Collegiate, Joanne went on to apply her knowledge as Training Manager to a large spa group for over ten years. Further receiving qualifications from top skincare brands including Elemis, Espa and Clarins, Joanne worked to not only restructure the teams she was placed with, but was tasked with increasing revenue and profit for the company, at which she more than succeeded. With strong organisational skills and with an ability to streamline internal communications, Macdonald Hotels has already seen an increase in productivity within at the spa since her appointment. Joanne has further ensured that all therapists are able to provide quality treatments, leading to a positive guest experience and customer loyalty.

On her appointment, Joanne commented, “I feel my skills and knowledge within the spa industry perfectly complement the Macdonald Hotels and Resorts brand. It is an exciting opportunity and with over 20 years of experience, I look forward to channeling my business acumen into developing Macdonald Manchester to become a leading spa within the North of England.”
