Greg Champion promoted to President & Chief Operating Officer at Benchmark Hospitality International

Benchmark Hospitality International, a leading U.S.-based hospitality management company, has announced the promotion of Greg Champion to President & Chief Operating Officer. Alex Cabañas, chief executive officer for Benchmark, made the announcement.

“Bringing Greg on board as a senior executive for Benchmark Hospitality is one of the most important decisions our company has made in its 35-year history,” said Mr. Cabañas. “Since he came to us, our growth trajectory and profitability has increased exponentially under his leadership. Greg Champion has been recognized as an influential leader in hospitality for nearly 25 years. A skilled and accomplished hotelier, Mr. Champion previously held the title of chief operating officer for Benchmark Hospitality International. He came to the company in 2009 after serving in senior leadership positions for leading private hotel management companies.

Mr. Champion attended Washington State University. He is a member of Skål International, the only global association that brings together all sectors of the professional Travel and Tourism industry, and of the prestigious international gastronomic organization, the Confrérie de la Chaîne des Rôtisseurs. Mr. Champion is active in tourism, culinary and hospitality associations. Greg and his wife Lori reside in The Woodlands, Texas, north of Houston.
