Benchmark Hospitality International has named Jeff Axline food & beverage director and executive chef for Hotel Contessa. Troy Mathews, general manager, made the announcement. Hotel Contessa is a Benchmark Resort located alongside the storied Riverwalk in San Antonio, Texas.
“It is with pleasure that I welcome Jeff to his new positions with Hotel Contessa and Benchmark Hospitality,” said Mr. Mathews. “He brings tremendous culinary skills to his new role, as well as an entrepreneurial eye for spotting and maximizing dining trends.”
An award-winning chef who has been featured in numerous Texas-based publications, Jeff Axline was previously executive chef for Hotel Zaza, located in the Houston Museum District of Houston, Texas. He held the dual roles of founder and executive chef for the Brooklyn Athletic Club, a casual start-up restaurant located in the trendy section of Houston. As well, Mr. Axline has served as executive chef for Lakeway Resort and Spa, located in Austin, Texas.
Jeff Axline is a graduate of the Art Institute of Seattle, School of Culinary Arts. He resides in San Antonio, Texas.
