Mövenpick Hotels & Resorts has announced the appointment of Simon Rindlisbacher as General Manager of its first Bangkok property, the five-star Mövenpick Hotel Sukhumvit 15 Bangkok.

A Swiss national, Mr Rindlisbacher, 39, brings a strong track record of international experience and local knowledge to the Mövenpick Hotel Sukhumvit 15 Bangkok — an upscale property surrounded by numerous dining, shopping and nightlife options, with a strong track record of experience and local knowledge.

Previously the General Manager of Ramada Hotel and Suites Bangkok for three years, his career also includes stints as Hotel Manager of Rembrandt Hotel & Towers Bangkok, and as Executive Assistant Manager at Amari Watergate Hotel and Spa, Bangkok and Amari Emerald Cove Resort and Spa, Koh Chang.

Simon started his career with a management traineeship at Rembrandt Hotel & Towers after working in the F&B and room division departments of hotels in Switzerland. He remains in touch with his Swiss heritage as President of the Swiss Society Bangkok.

Mövenpick Hotel Sukhumvit 15 Bangkok represents the Swiss hospitality firm’s first city hotel in Thailand and is an important step in Mövenpick Hotels & Resorts’ expansion plans for the region.

The Swiss hospitality firm operates Mövenpick Hotel Sukhumvit 15 Bangkok under a management agreement with the property’s owning company, Kijsompong Co., Ltd.

Highlights of the 297-key Mövenpick Hotel Sukhumvit 15 Bangkok include a 20-metre rooftop pool and bar, 330 square metres of meeting space and a cosy courtyard featuring a unique two-storey waterfall.

The dining offering showcases Mövenpick’s renowned gastronomic expertise, with outlets serving a range of high-quality cuisine from Thai classics to European and international dishes. In addition, the Rainforest Rooftop Bar is a not-to-be-missed city experience where guests can enjoy cocktails and gourmet tapas, whilst taking in views of the magnificent Bangkok skyline.

Mövenpick Hotels & Resorts has signed and sealed deals for two further Thai properties; one in Pattaya opening at the beginning of 2016 and another resort property planned for Hua Hin.
