Taipei Marriott Hotel, a 320-room urban oasis in the heart of the city and the first Marriott hotel in Taiwan, has announced the appointment of Elaine Chin as Director of Sales and Marketing. With an accomplished background that includes over 18 years of experience working in various positions in the hotel industry, Chin, who has been with the Marriott brand since 2012, served previously as the Director of Sales and Marketing at the Marriott Luwan in Shanghai. In her new role, Chin will help to raise awareness and solidify the positioning for the hotel, which is Marriott’s first property in Taiwan.
“We’re thrilled to have Elaine Chin as our new Director of Sales and Marketing and we are confident in her abilities to add significant value to our property,” said Mark Liu, Managing Director of Taipei Marriott Hotel. “Having worked previously for Marriott, Elaine is a great fit for this role and brings with her a wealth of knowledge for the brand, which will benefit us tremendously and ensure that Marriott’s loyal guests receive the same elevated experience that they’ve grown accustomed to when they visit Taipei and stay with us.”
Chin has proven her ability to work successfully in events management, catering and convention, and MICE tourism. Prior to working with Marriott, she was the Director of Sales and Marketing for both the Renaissance Shanghai Yangtze and Le Meridien Chongqing Nan’an. During her time at Le Meridien Chongqing Nan’an, she played a key role in raising awareness for the hotel’s opening. In addition, she spent three years working as the Director of MICE for The Westin Bejiing, where she played a key role in raising banquet and group room revenue.
Opening in 2015, Taipei Marriott Hotel marks Marriott brand’s entry into Taiwan. The hotel will be a lush urban oasis offering luxury amenities, a state-of-the-art conference and event center, five outstanding restaurants, and a high-end shopping mall.
