Shortly following the pre HSMAI Europe ITB conference in Berlin earlier this year, Alexander Hoerner, Vice President Sales at Steigenberger Hotel Group has been appointed as the Chair for the HSMAI Europe Sales Advisory Board.
“We are extremely pleased to see this very important position being looked after by such an eminent expert, while pushing HSMAI forward as a powerhouse for sales within the travel and hospitality industry,” says Ingunn Hofseth, CEO and President of HSMAI Europe.
Alexander Hoerner adds: “The environment for sales in the hospitality industry is changing rapidly. We are facing a high focus on e-commerce targeting primarily B2C guests. The future Sales Manager who focuses on the B2B part of our business will need more skills than today. The Advisory Board Sales Executive at HSMAI Europe will work on the profile of the “Sales Manager 2020”. This person will not be the only interface between clients hotels, the “Sales Manager 2020” will need to gain more skills in all client related processes like distribution, e-commerce, social-media as well as basic legal knowledge to negotiate terms & conditions with global accounts. In addition, sales teams will need a clear focus on cost of sales and profitability. This Advisory Board will provide the platform to educate our future sales teams with conferences, training and webinars which cater to the real needs of sales people today and in the future.”
“The European HSMAI Advisory Boards are HSMAI Europe’s advisors for becoming a leading association in Europe by identifying and communicating trends in the hospitality industry while operating as a leading voice for hospitality sales and marketing management disciplines, revenue management, leadership development, as well as connecting its members with customers.” Ingunn Hofseth, CEO & President, HSMAI Europe, explains.
“The HSMAI Europe Sales Advisory Board now seeks to expand with more sales leadership under the guidance of Alexander, and with the support of the wider HSMAI Europe organisation. Involvement with the HSMAI Advisory Boards raises one’s personal profile in the industry and recognizes its members as thought leaders. If you are interested in learning more about the HSMAI Europe Advisory Boards, would like to get involved or seek information, please get in touch with us,” concludes Ingunn Hofseth and Alexander Hoerner.
Two more Advisory Boards will also be added shortly focusing on Resort Marketing and Service Operation.
